Durant cette année 2021 qui s’est terminée, le COS a continué à recevoir de nombreux patients à qui des soins de la meilleure qualité possible ont été administrés, grâce à nos collaboratrices et collaborateurs toujours aussi dynamiques et compétents et aussi grâce à mon confrère, le docteur Ioannis Papasavvas, qui accomplit un fellowship (formation postgrade) en maladies oculaires inflammatoires et rétiniennes dans notre centre. Nous remercions nos confrères qui nous ont fait confiance et nous ont envoyé les patients qui nécessitaient des consultations spécialisées.
Le COS a publié pas moins de 22 articles dans des journaux scientifiques internationaux. La liste des articles publiés se trouve ci-dessous. Ainsi avons-nous publié une revue des méthodes d’investigation en imagerie des maladies oculaires inflammatoires dans 2 articles dans le journal réputé « Eye (London) ». Nous avons revu la prise en charge des inflammations oculaires chez l’enfant également dans deux articles. Plusieurs articles ont concerné les maladies de la choroïde difficiles à diagnostiquer et surtout difficile à traiter. Nous nous sommes également intéressés à de potentiels effets secondaires de la vaccination anti-Covid, réactivation d’herpes oculaire et de zona oculaire. Il s’agit d’effets secondaires facile à traiter grâce aux substances anti-inflammatoires et anti-virales dont nous disposons aujourd’hui.
Nous avons également fait une revue extensive d’une maladie oculaire méconnue et mal comprise : la rétinochoroidite de birdshot.
