Dr Ioannis Papasavvas: Specialist in Ophthalmology FMH & Fellow
Dr Ioannis Papasavvas was born in Athens. He finished his medical education in the University of Ioannina in Greece in 2009. The same year, he started a specialty in general medicine in the Université de Bourgogne, Dijon, France. He passed the ECOS exam (Examen Clinique Objectif Structuré) of general medicine in 2011 and finished training in this field in 2012.
He continued his career in Greece. In 2013, his military service was done as a doctor in the greek army. In 2014-2015, he worked as a country doctor in the Akrata medical center. He goes on with a specialty in ophthalmology in september 2015 at the General hospital of Patras “St Andreas”.
Dr Ioannis Papasavvas arrives in Switzerland in january 2018 to finish his training in ophthalmology at the Center C of the Montchoisi clinic in Lausanne. He succeeds in the EBO-FMH exam (European Board of Ophthalmology / Foederatio Medicorum Helveticorum) in november 2020 and obtains the title of FMH specialist in ophthalmology.
He starts to work as a resident in the COS since march 2020.
Mr Bruno Jeannin: medical photographer
Following photographic studies in France and then in England, Mr Bruno Jeannin obtains a diploma in Bachelor of Arts in professional Phtography in the United States in 1982. Photographer in Paris from 1983 to 1999, he continues with a training at the Jules-Gonin Ophthalmic Hospital in Lausanne in ophthalmic imaging starting from 1999. In 2006, he joined the COS as an imaging technician.
Mrs Amel Gasc: chief-orthoptist, ophthalmic assistant
After studies in Paris, Mrs Amel Gasc gets her diploma in orthoptics at the University Pierre et Marie Curie Paris VI en 2009. Her training was done in different hospital in Paris (C.H.N.O des Quinze-Vingts, Necker-enfants malades et Hôpital militaire Begin). Since 2011, she provides the ophthalmic pre-examination at the COS.
Mrs Catherine Garlot: optometrist
After studies as an optician with a degree from Paris, Mrs Catherine Garlot has obtained a Master in optometrics at the University of Marseille St-Jérôme. Her arrival at the COS in early 2022 is a welcome addition to our team.
